Pocketwatch has a new look

We rebuilt nearly every part of Pocketwatch around one design language. The dashboard, budget, account ledgers, investments, net worth, calendar, settings, onboarding, navigation, and public website now look and work like parts of the same app.

Phones received the same attention. Layouts fit smaller screens more naturally, sheets and menus are easier to use, and clearer feedback and motion help each action feel connected.

A better first day

Registration and first-run setup now guide you through the essentials in a clearer order: profile details, currency, security enrollment, recovery codes, a first account, an initial budget, and a walkthrough inside the live app.

The setup saves your place as you go, so you can safely resume if you close the page or need to finish a security step later.

More ways to sign in, with stronger protection

The temporary password migration path is now retired. Sign in with Apple joined the available identity options, and supported sign-in providers can be linked to the same Pocketwatch account.

We also strengthened passkey and authenticator setup, account recovery, session handling, and the checks around deleting an account.

Accounts and transactions, with less friction

The updated transaction modal brings the important details into one place. Account search is back, mobile account switching is quicker, transfers are clearer, and scheduled and recurring activity is easier to understand.

Transaction review, approvals, bulk actions, colored tags, institution logos, and consistent action menus make busy ledgers easier to work through.

Account management grew too. Accounts can now be edited, closed, and reopened without losing their history. Debt accounts gained payoff projections, and creating your first account now takes fewer steps.

Bank sync made simpler

The first Plaid connection and import experience now gives you clearer progress and better sync status. Recurring charges can appear across your ledger, dashboard, and calendar, so the next bill is easier to spot before it arrives.

Payee rules can also rename or categorize incoming transactions automatically, cutting down the cleanup after each sync.

A budget that's easier to shape

We rebuilt the budgeting experience and refined targets, funding, category status, filtering, drag-and-drop, and mobile controls. The result is a budget that is quicker to read and easier to adjust.

Categories can be hidden, safely reassigned before deletion, and managed with clearer rollups and actions. Demo data now creates a more realistic household budget when you want an example to explore.

Receipts and splits are here

Transactions can now hold private, multi-image receipts. Pocketwatch can use the details extracted from a receipt to create a transaction, and itemized purchases can be split across multiple categories.

Investing goes deeper

Holdings and transactions were reorganized into a more useful workspace. Trades can be created or edited directly from holding rows, with fewer jumps between pages.

Ticker details now include more market context, fundamentals, dividend views, longer price histories, benchmark comparisons, and clearer explanations of performance.

Initial Steam support has been added, allowing you to track your Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) inventory alongside your other investments.

A clearer net worth story

The net-worth page now gives assets and debt clearer roles, shows what contributed to a change, and supports configurable wealth goals. Debt progress is easier to follow without losing the bigger picture.

Property tracking also gained richer editing, custom fields, sale and disposition details, and calendar reminders for important dates.

A dashboard that tells you what needs attention

The dashboard now puts a money agenda and timely financial signals first. The notification bell has grown into an alert center with market-aware insights, while the calendar gained more filters and broader event coverage.

More care behind the scenes

We expanded GDPR consent, data export, account deletion, and retention behavior. Subscription cancellation, refunds, App Store purchase handling, and referral rewards were also made more durable.

This release also includes another round of security, validation, reliability, and performance improvements across the app.
