Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Pocketwatch uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our service at pocketwatch.io.
Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the service cannot work without them. Everything else - analytics and ad measurement - stays off until you opt in through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They let a site remember preferences and session state across page loads.
Cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
auth_token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. HttpOnly, not accessible to JavaScript, and contains a signed session reference. It refreshes only while you interact with the page. | 30 minutes after your last activity |
pw:consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not re-ask on every visit. Stored in your browser, not shared. | 13 months |
| First-party analytics | Analytics | Anonymized, first-party usage measurement (which pages and features are used). Identifiers are hashed before storage; no cross-site tracking. Off until you opt in. | Browser storage |
_vercel_analytics | Analytics | Aggregate anonymous page-view analytics from Vercel. No cross-site tracking or personal identifiers. Off until you opt in. | Session / short-lived |
Google Ads cookies | Ad measurement | Used by Google Ads tags to measure ad performance and subscription conversion activity. | Varies by Google service and browser settings |
Strictly necessary cookies
The auth_token cookie is required for the service to function. Without it you cannot stay signed in.
Analytics cookies
We use first-party, anonymized analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how the service is used in aggregate. Identifiers are hashed before storage and there is no advertising profiling. These run only if you opt in, and they also respect your browser's Do Not Track setting.
Third-party cookies
We use Google Ads tags to measure advertising and conversion performance. Stripe may set its own cookies during hosted checkout. See Google's advertising cookie policy and Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
Use the cookie banner, or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, to accept, reject, or choose analytics and ad measurement per category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings - blocking all cookies will prevent sign-in.
